only 4 hours???? ... I spent the whole damn day in there

They are having a store wide clearance right now (At least Toronto is ... I suspect Cowtown would be the same) ... some good deals to be had

The feed bag there makes the best sammiches ... I spent alot of time in the fly shop too

They seem to have added some Tax since April ... I dont recall the jumping elk ... And I seem to recall that swamp donkey was by the back of the store near the future mall entrance

There was a 20 pounder in there at one point from a local lake, but it jumped out and was found the next morning on the floor 10 feet below, thats what I was told by one of the staff, then there was a little guy in there but I havent been there in a couple months.

I live 10 mins away but never have to travell north anymore.

I stumbled across it last month while on the interstate going south to Calgary. I had to drive another 10 miles or more to turn around and go back. Store was the same as those down south and felt at home. Prices were good compared to those at WS. Talked to the firearms manager and he said they will not be carrying handguns due to Canadian firearm laws and their policies that were made up for the Ontario store.

I was there May long weekend, I thought it was OK. The Mounts and stuff are cool but they had nothing I was looking for. I kind of thought it was a little bit "YUPPY".

This brings back memories. When I lived in Illinois Bass Pro was only 20 minutes away from my house. one thing you have to give the Americans they do know how to make a hunter and angler feel "at home".

Does Bass Pro in Calgary have a restaurant where they only serve wild game dishes too? They have one in Illinois and boy have they variety, from the ordinary venison roast to the Zebra steak, everything is available. Their wild berry cake has to be tasted to be believed.

.308, did you get any shots of the two bull moose fighting, with one pinned to the ground on it's side? It was tucked away in the back, main floor. Now that is some taxidermy feat! Impressive mount!

I was there last week. Every where you look there are animals. Some awesome antlers and horns. But you don't have to get too close to many of them to see that the taxi work is poor.
The two bull moose fighting was an exceptional display though!!

I found prices on quite a few articles more than PG, but some things had very good prices. Pays to know your prices before you go. I didn't buy that much, but I spent four hours looking at the displays.

I stood for a long time under the sheep, imagining exactly where to put an arrow from all the different angles.

NOW I'm excited about August!!!

last month I went to Bass Pro shop in Calgary,Wholesale sports, and Cabella's in Billings and must say the basspro shop was the most impressive but for firearm related stuff Cabella's was better. basspro had good prices on outboard motors though and americans pay more for firearms than we do.
