Really looks interesting ...

a thought outside of the box for ground and pound hunters that like the tight scrub

I want to play with one of these

I get this terrible mental image of a limb breaking at the riser end and the ensuing smack in the face.:eek:

A really interesting concept. I'm surprised that someone hasn't done that before now. It's a natural way to make a bulky weapon a lot more compact.

I'd love to get my mitts on one to shoot for a few hours. Although I can see that the forward post-type handle might introduce some torque or twist into the shot. It'd be too easy to shoot while the bow isn't level.

Stil, it's a great idea that the other manufacturers are sure to copy as soon as they are able.

Looks like it would pull you forward into the shot..Well if your little.
I'll test it for you for very little charge : )

actually it looks like it would push back at you ... similar to the report of a rifle

I see the limbs springing outward / rearward when fired.
Would be interesting to try.

I would love to get my hands on one of these C-bows. A friend in Tennessee had the fortune to field test this bow. His review is not out yet but he told me, "its an awesome bow".

Are any BC shops stocking this crossbow, or the similar Horton Vision 175?

That thing would be a lot nicer to hunt with in thicker bush than my excal. No more limbs hitting bushes or tree limbs.

I really want to try both of then!!! The recon is cool looking and the other one mounts on a m-16 frame, shoots bow arrows and comes with a crank. Sounds like fun!!

the tak 10 is a canadian verson it only has a look alike m16 frame . we should have it in march . so if you happen to be going through salmon arm stop at westside and have a look.

I was gonna ask if that was the Tac 10 ... CDN model of the TAC 15 ... that uses the AR-15 lower ....

yes evidently the Tac 10 can use a replica lower .... to make it legal here in Canada (the AR 15 lower is whats restricted/prohibited...in Canada )

either way I shot the Tac 15 in the states .. and for 1200 bucks with out the stock I totally not impressed ...super heavy .. super noisey ... Not a hunting device ... fairly fast and extremly accurate .... I would take it on the target circut ...if there was one in North America ...

What would be the benefit of this design?? Ten point has one that is 17" wide in the standard configuration.

I was in Chilliwack today on other bussiness and drop by the store I bought my crossbow from and the tack 10 came up in the bsing. The owner of chilliwack dart and tackle says the tac 10 and/or 15 is totaly crap, slow to load, crap feel and uses "custom" arrows. That he thinks will be BIG $$. Bowzone is right get again and still all knowing. As for the recon 175, I still want to try one but I am so glad I got the Excalibur. Works perfectly and Canadian!!

Wow Hardnocks did I put you in jail or something. I talked to him for awhile and he said he tried it in the states at a big show, which is how I tried the X-cal so I believe him. He could be lying cause that drives up sales telling ppl not to buy something you are bringing in as of march.

LOL it might well be noisy and i am sure its slow to load..anything that has a crank will be....but you are saying what you have been told is gospel truth.

The one above is only (I believe) meant to be shot from an AR frame. It sure wouldn't have a decent "feel" about it without that rifle frame - nor would it shoot worth a darn.

The one below is ready to shoot "as is". One really cool feature is the way the cables pass under the rail and are kept out of the way, in their own little "cubbyhole". I'd like to get a chance to shoot this baby myself.

Let's not alow this thread to degenerate into an argument - OK?

Personal comments towards other members should be done thru PM's.

Has anyone seen a picture of a case for either of them? I take the X-cal apart to trans and store it and it still takes a BIG case. That recon 175 is sexy, the more I look the more I want one.

I just shoot 10 bolts threw the Hurton vision 175 (recon 175) it is NICE and quiet. The pull is lighter than my X-cal but the same speed. I think the best thing is how small it is, they say it is 9" acoss but I would say real world it is 12" acroos but still way narrower than mine. I like the scope but it does not seem as well made or as clear as the x-cal. Over all I would say it is super nice but I will not be selling the x-cal just yet but it is a close call. Smaller but cheaper feel for more money or bigger and better build. Tuff Call!!!
