Heavy rain in the upper Mission now (5:30 pm) and we've had some thunder so maybe it was a lightning strike.
I quad in the upper hills/KVR and it is VERY dry. Everyone should use caution. But there is always some idiot who throws out his/her cigeret butt.
How easily the fire of 2003 was forgotten. The KFD stopped the fire 75' from my home. We were very lucky that week.

There are bombers and a chopper on it and forestry crews are heading there now. We had had a huge hailstorm and downpour so hopefully that hits it. I can see from my front yard across the lake. Looked like it got big awfully fast, at least alot of smoke.

They hit it hard and there is alot less smoke now. Heard the planes have left and three choppers are on it. Two dozers and an excavator are building a road in for a 20 man crew for tomorrow morning.

It's not late July of Aug so I wouldn't worry too much.

There certainly was an impressive plume of smoke, though!

It has been raining here in Vernon for a couple of hours. Hopefully it is raining down that way as well.

We got a major rain storm around 4:00am today that I am sure helped things out. They are going to hammer it today so I am sure things will be fine.

MoF comment is we are sitting at late July conditions, praying for June rains.

Decent chance of rain for 5 out of the next 7 days. Let's hope it comes through.
