finally connected on this guy. thaught my day was over when at 930 or so i saw the hugert bear ever in the chilliwack mountains. i set up for a shot and he was directly in front of the sun , made me tear and couldnt pull the trigger , by the time i got to a better vantage point he was a tail end then a story of a great missed opportunity.didnt give up rather i eventually talked myself into leaving the area and moved to the other side of the valley, some campers had left a hell of a mess over the weekend and this guy was feasting on paper plates and tin foil when i disturbed him. q ; could this be defined as hunting over bait?? i didnt know it was there nor did i put it there which i feel absolves me of any wrongdoing but not everything in this world makes sense. anyhow tried the gutless method and feel i did a bang up job. his coat wasnt worth keeping all patchy and thin. i cant seem to upload image but am working on it.http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/thumbs/1121.JPG (http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/showphoto.php?photo=14355&limit=recent)http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/medium/1131.JPG (http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/showphoto.php?photo=14356&size=big&cat=500)

It's working now!! Good for you on the bear, fear not on the garbage issue, you did nothing unethical in my book.

Garbage bears... a lot of hunters set standards of no shoot within 10 miles of sites.. Others do not.. Only thing you have to do is take the meat home with you.. What you do with it after that is up to you... Sometimes hunting ethics is an oxymoron. Nobody sets your hunting standards but you.. If it made you feel good and you cut your tag... there ya go.. Too bad the coat was not suitable..

I feel Diapers and old coffee grounds add a flavour that is quite pleasing to the palate

now be nice , he didnt name call or anything. just poked fun at me for shooting a garbage bear , something i was prepared for when i made mention of the fact . im sure his comments were made in good spirit at least thats the way they were taken. i am well known for taking the high road in sits such as this as i tend to live by the no blood no foul kinda phillosophy . cheers.

It's obvious that UMB was picked on as a child.....and the reasons "why" are pretty clear. His therapist said he needs to vent somehow or he'll explode......and the internet is the safest place for him to do it:-P.

Don't worry UMB. Betteroff & Martyon both get good doses of humble pie from their most exalted dad when we have our annual hunt. Both of them shoot diseased game and catch anemic fish. Did the best I could with what I had to work with but, alas, some kids just don't learn. ;-)

i've got a good sence of humor, but all your negativity sucks after awhile! i dont have a arm chair, but i have some nice animals on my wall. and 5 hounds that don't bring cats and bears to my truck by themselves.. yet. i've been tryin to train them on that for a couple years now. they just dont get it.

there are those that say there are no bad kids, just bad parents:shock:

I agree with that. I like kids. Even ones who shoot diseased game and catch anemic fish. Even after being the benficiaries of years of my expert guidance and direction humbly offered. :-)
