3 different lakes with the same result in each, all fish were 14-19 inches, released an average of 6-10 each night. i am not picky if it looks like a good one i take it for the smoker or BBQ, ended up releasing the 3 biggest ones i landed all about 3-4 pounds , 19-23 inches were the biggest ones.

Good on ya.....Glad to see you took a little break from the knife making and got some fresh air....

Any hints as to what kind of fly you were using??Dry or wet troll??

Mike,,,i was using a caddis with olive green body, brown hackle wrap, and a tan -grey wing, Dry fly for the last 40 minutes and the same fly only an emerger before that.
PS..if you see anyone selling flies for cheap in the fly boxes let me know.
someone stole mine, unzipped the bag on the pontoon boat and took 5 full fly boxes. i think about 1500 flies.

Did you fish Horseshoe lake, It has some nice fish.

havent hit horseshoe yet. it may be next on the list..SO MANY LAKES <<>> SO LITTLE TIME.
Out of all the lakes last year horseshoe was the slowest.

Seen a nice grizz behind that lake a couple of years ago. Was choked didnt have a fly rod to fish with.

I think thats cause it gets the most pressure....May long I heard there was 20+ boats out there, in one day....

gotta respect the hatchery here in the east kootenay they make sure we all have the fishing that anyone would envy... and we live the dream and enjoy every outing because of them so a big cudos to them and congrats on the fish gotta love it!!! great pic by the way!!

ya,,gotta love the lakes here in the kootenays, awesome views of the rocky mountains and some awesome flyfishing , i have only seen one other fisherman on any lake this year, although i know they are fished, i just go later than most.
