The Grand Slam that is spoken most of consists of the 4 species of sheep in North America. They include the Rocky Mountain Bighorn, Desert Bighorn, Stone Sheep and Dall sheep.

The California Bighorn is branched in with the Rocky Mountain bighorn.

BC sheep hunters have the BC Slam which is the Rocky, Cali, Stone and Dall all of which we can shoot in the province.

There is also the the North American Slam which consists of all 27 or 29 (cant remember) species hunted in North America and include:
5 different Caribou
3 different moose (Alaska/yukon, Canadian and Shiras)
3 different Elk (rocky, rosevelt and Tule)
4 sheep (listed above)
3 bears (Grizz, Polar and Black)
3 Mule Deer (Mulie, black tail, and Sitka)
2 Whitetail (Regular and Coues)
Mountain Goat
Pronghorn
Bison
Musk Ox
Cougar
Wolf??

Yes you are correct I just added those. Cant believe I for got those.

Walrus maybe one too, if so then Wolf should be taken out.

Jaguar is not on it as you cant hunt them anymore.

Like bighornbob states a grand slam is when you harvest all species of north american sheep. Harvesting all 28 north American species is called the super slam. Both cost a lot of money to obtain. A dessert big horn is about an $80,000 bill and dalls sheep are getting harder and harder to come by in BC. Thankfully we are blessed enough in BC to have more species of animals than the average joe blow could ever hunt without a guide.

The way I understand it is this:

North American Slam is harvesting at least 1 of every animal in NA, that is recognized by the Boone and Crocket club.

North American Grand Slam is the same as above, except all the animals harvested make the minimum score to enter into the B&C book.

The latter is what Jim Shockey achieved with his muzzle loader.
