So I was able to get away once again today to try and fill my grizz draw for this spring. I really wanted to do an overnighter, but as prior commitment took care of that. Headed out bright and early this morning to be the only person in the chosen valley for the morning. The morning was quite uneventful with only a few small blackies seen. I decided to change locations completely for another spot i like to hunt that i hadn't been able to getinto in previous attempts. While in transit i saw a moose with a great start on his set of antlers for the year.

When i finally got to where i wanted to be i decided to stop and glass some cuts that always seem to hold at least one bear and sure enough there they were. A nice sow grizzly with two playful cubs following her around. Finally have seen my first grizzlies of the year. Brought out the spotter and decided to take some pictures of them. Not the greatest but at least you can tell there are some bears there. The cubs are the black dots

The little ones were more intent on tackling each other than anything and amused me for a good twenty minutes. Mom was keeping a close eye on them while devouring everything she could get. I can now count my grizz hunting as successful as at least i have seen some grizzlies. Hopefully my next trip will be even better.

Yeah, would be nicer if there were more than two weekends left though!

A bad days Hunting is better than a good day at work!
Sooner or later Mr. Grizz will awke and be intent on feeding and you will stumble across him, either that or a phone call will come your way and give you details on where there is one right now!
Cheers Stay Safe,
Rob

I agree with FLHTCUI, a day of long range spotting while taking a walk in the woods... is better than pushing paper across a desk... or typing on this keyboard.
