Lots of private land in Cresent Valley so access can be tough. Norns creek is a decent road with several good cut blocks and lots of deer elk grouse. The little slocan lakes area is also good.

The Goat river is a chunk of a drive from Nelson.. even further from Crescent Valley. Hiking up the road closures in Garrity and Smallwood can have it's rewards. Late season so will have had a fair bit of pressure. Hoder Creek and Koch Creek up the slocans can be interesting as well.
