Howdy, thanks for the pictures, brings back old memories. Nice thick hide and a typical Yukon grizzly colour. What did he go - about 6'6.
The bears up there are usually all around 6 t0 7'0, they don't seem to get real huge like the salmon eating bears closer to the coast, but they can sure get snotty in a hurry.
In our 30 years up there the wife and I have probably seen 150 plus bears and they were all basically the same size when they reach the 5-6-7 year old age.
But we have seen a few in the 7-8'0 range. One day up past Carmacks we saw one on a grassy slope about 700 yards away-I said to the wife lets go and she said not a chance-it looks like a boxcar feeding across the hill, I went myself, long story short after a 500 yard stalk he was gone.
I was guessing an 8'6-9'0 easy.
Once again thanks for the pictures and the memories. Later

very pretty bear seems to lots of grizz in the yukon I was in whitehorse this summer and talked with conservation officer who was skinning out a grizz some one had shot and left along the road. he said it was common to go for a drive in the evening and see one or two bears aong the road. said most guys just road hunt them they are so plentiful. makes you want to move up there.
