After chasing a few good bears over the last week, things finally came together on the weekend. ThinAir and myself headed out on Sunday and with the good weather we were soon into bears. After passing on some smaller bears we saw a good one we had seen a few days earlier. A 26 yard shot and a 30 yard recovery and this boar was mine.

The next day we headed out again and Starbuck joined us to run the video. An 18 yard shot and a 25 yard recovery and ThinAir had his first archery bear.

Congrats on the nice bears . . . you boys were due to score with the bows. About the same recovery distance as my bear except you're using a slightly different projectile!

When you left town just over a week ago you really had the locals talking about your showing at the 3-D shoot here. Looks like the "young guns" are now ready for Stone's! ;)

Congrats to both of you. Exciting style of hunting. The bears are starting to show in the EK and I hope to get out this weekend and pursue the same. Good hunt.

It's a bit of a rush, eh? When I arrowed my bear at 20 yards, it went tasmanian screaming, spinning and biting at the entry wound. I"ve never seen anything move so quickly and powerfully! I was alone with no gun and it actually scared the sh!t outta me. Good fun! :biggrin:

Nice bears guys. Looking at the trees in the pictures were you east of town? I have been seeing tons of bears out there in the last 2 weeks. I think i have seen in the neighbourhood of thirty bears in a couple of day trips that way.

Agreed I have also seen a ton of bears out that way as well, 16 total on saturday, but all the wrong species or sex (saw a sow grizz with 3 cubs).

Nice bears boys, now it's time for grizz ;) I helped a friend recover a blackie he arrowed and he told me about a couple of "hot shots" from PG that came in 1 and 2 at the Terrace archery shoot. I said I know those boys, I think he came in 5th.

Good job boys. Good to see those new mathews bows into some action. Good warm up for stones eh. Looks to be a couple pope and youngers. Congrats again.

Now its my turn fellas, only thing is my bear is going to eat some lead with the new Sako. Maybe I will shoot next years with the bow. Congrats fellas can't wait until this weekend!!!!!

Skull's look long on them as well as fat. Should both sail into P&Y. Love the white blaze.

SKYLINE's measured out at 18 7/16 and squared at 6' 3"

I thought mine would make P&Y when I shot it but..... ended up at only 17 inches.
Good thing I have two tags:-P

Well done guys!
I'm still looking for a gooder for my second tag, but the rubs are starting and so is the fishing. Last night may have been it for me till the fall. Maybe I'll head to 6-12 then. I hear the bears are more plentyful there, even if they are smaller.
