I've been in there

You have to go further south, past the Army gun range. The gun range is right along the Chilliwack river hwy, so the further in you go the safer you are.

Road goes in a fair way and its usually in good shape by May-June.

Google earth shows it very well. The FSR goes in approximately 12 km to the U.S. border.

If you go all the way near the border, you may be watched by the U.S. DEA helicopter that does regular patrols for drug "mules". Just wave at them and you'll be ok. It's a Sikorsky Blackhawk and it is actually painted black. If they can see you have a rifle, possibly wearing cammo, and are not carrying a huge pack, they won't worry about you.

You may likely see Black Bear in there so have a Bear tag.

Black bear is the idea. Is it 2wd access? Thanks

I heard that Slesse is gated now due to increased DND activity and some loosers dumping gyproc and garbage. I haven't been up there to verify for myself, but there are a few black bears back there. It used to be decent 2wd to around 7km, then the road gets a little rough.
