Hey Guys,

I'm heading up to Tumbler Ridge to hunt with an outfitter up there during the week of May 25-31st. Primary goal will be to get my wife on a big black bear (her first).

Just curious how the grass is doing up there and how the weather has been? I think we should have it timed pretty good, but wanted to check with a few of you guys if you had any comments on that last week in May being about right for good bear hunting....

Thanks leadpill,

I'm assuming you're from there? Is that where you've done most of your bear hunting filming?

My wife is super pumped. She has never killed a bear but has wanted to for years. If we can get her a 6 1/2' bear or bigger she'll go crazy!

I dont know if I'm going to hunt or not....but getting her a bear will be very cool....

Just barely starting to green up, south slopes only, still lots of snow up high and in the shade. A few bears spotted on the south slopes and pipelines but not too heavy yet. I'd say in 2 weeks it will be primetime. The rain is definately helping, hillsides are greening fast now. Goodluck!

I think your timing should be pretty good. As other's have said, still snow in the mountains, but some green showing up on pipelines and south slopes.
