I'm going to guess that Lake Cowichan probably holds a few monsters. It's one huge and deep lake, 400 feet deep in some places.

Test nets in Comox lake have yielded several over 15lbs, 19 is the largest I know of.
There is a few areas that sounders cant read :cool:
5lbs & change is my best.

Cowichan has or had some biggies. Especially if you hook into a Steelhead migrating through the lake to one of the feeder streams. Theoretically they aren't steelhead when in the lake. Guess same could be said for nimpkish.

Cameron has some hard to catch hog browns.

Seven pound cutthroat from Cowichan lake and I've heard of bigger ones.

Quamichan lake has some lunkers too!!

Biggest i have seen is Great central my buddy caught an 8lb cuttie,
biggest myself is in cameron at 4.5lbs
biggest total was 6lbs in the QCI sea run cuttie while fishing for pinks

I haven't caught a 'BIG" fish there, but I've seen 20 foot boats with electric downriggers.

I'm thinking there must be something worth that !!

My personal biggest...Quenell LK Cedar S. Nanaimo. 4 lbs dry fly.

nahmint lake has some lunkers. my biggest rainbow was out of there 7 lbs. i know 2 other people who have caught a 12 lb and an 8 lb.

Bonanza, Nimpkish, Victoria and Alice lake all have fish over 10 lbs. I have seen picts of 7lbs fish from Bonanza and have heard from the locals of bigger fish from all 4 lakes. You just have to know how to fish the bigger lakes.

While trolling a dry fly in Fuller, I saw a trout rise for a seagull feather right beside the boat that I estimated at 10 lbs.
