Wow, what a day!!!

It was 22 and no wind, a rarity on the North Island, so we took advantage of the hot weather and took the dogs to the lake to cool them down.

The two dogs, Sitka, a Chessie who will be 11 in June and Kaza, the Lab, who will be 2 on May 5th had a ball.

The two of them together, with Sitka not wanting to be sitting still as there was water to swim:mrgreen:

and watching as a few geese flew over. (Come on dad, why are you not shooting?? )

Now for the crazy one. Kaza is not a bird dog, she would rather stop and smell all the roses than retrieve:biggrin:....sigh but I have come to accept it.

But she is a dock diver of the first degree, she cannot enter the water gracefully.

She can retieve, but you have to get her very excited

It was a great way to spend an hour and help them cool down a bit.

And, as always, a tired dog is a good dog:mrgreen::wink:

My cousin is looking at a chessie as well. These folks are selling PB pups and they are just up the road from you. You might know them already.

Another great Kennel is Liberty Chesepeake Bay Retrivers... I am not sure the exact state they are in but I have a hunch (looking at pedigrees for fun:shock:) that Marc got his dog from there.

I also know a few other people that have got Chessies from there and they have been extreamly happy with them.

they also have lots of hunting titled dogs coming out of that kennel.

Sitka, your lab looks just like my female. She loves the water and running around but is a dud when it comes to hunting. I still believe she has an eye problem as you can toss her a treat and it will bounce off her head and she'll sniff around to find it. She's now close to 11 years old and still loves to get into what ever water we come across.
