As everyone is showing their found sheds I thought I would post one of my finds. I have been collecting antlers both harvested and sheds for sometime now but this was my best find. Bought at a garage sale for 15 bucks. Lady didn't know what they were and said they had belonged to an uncle. I have to admit they even had me stumped until I got home and did some research. At first I thought some kind of buffalo but soon discovered they were Musk OX. Not a trophy set but a good conversation piece.

And in nice shape too!
Although I believe they aren't shed.
They're definitely keepers.
Maybe mount them on a nice plaque and hang them on a wall?

No they are not sheds as the skull cap is attached and I don't think Musk Oxen shed their horns as they belong to the cattle family ( I think).

Ya they definitely look like they are not sheds, but they look like a nice piece to hang up on the wall somewhere!

As members of the subfamily Caprinae (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goat-antelope) of the family Bovidae, muskoxen are more closely related to sheep (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_sheep) and goats (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goat) than to oxen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ox), but are in their own genus, Ovibos. Both genders have long curved horns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horn_(anatomy)).
