I had my buddy in Christina Lake send me this pic today. I guess the turkey was taken today or yesterday by a guest staying at my buddy's hotel. Blurred face for privacy.

What's he doing to that turkey?! Looks like indecent assault!!...good thing you blurred his face. ;)
Seriously though, nice bird. Nice to see an old school side by side too.

Four years ago a covey of turkeys up Italy Creek scared the crap out of me. Some day I'll get my revenge.

I am glad it's a blurred picture. I thought for a second that he had used to much Botox :)

I'm the buddy with the motel. This Tom weighed in at 20 pounds and was the third bird taken by one of our guests. The other two toms were both smaller, in the 10 - 15 pound range.

cheers all.

Nice mature tom, love that old side-by-side gun. Looks like that tom was a bit of a fighter or maybe he got half the shotgun load in the fan.

Rick,

You guys are more than welcome. Always great to have such easy going people stay with us. It is too bad you had to leave the lake empty handed though. Hopefully next year!

Good job on the turkey......old guns look nice in pictures and are sometimes good for nostalgic purposes; however, the birds were henned up where I was and wouldn't come in so mine bought it at 60m using my dad's old 1200 from the late 60's machined to fit a new style turkey choke and federal loads with flight control wads......old unmodified gun would have equalled zero birds instead of 2. The new chokes with these shells even outdistance a .22 ( unless of course you can hit a turkey head consistantly at 60 m while its moving; a tough thing to do even with a bipod).
