Well another turkey season is at a close for Uncle, my son and I unless we go down south for some reason this fall.....the first one fell within the first 5 minutes of the season and the next took 4 more days and about 700 kms of driving. Had quite a few responses but most gobblers we found were henned up and reluctant to come in so both were got using the "run and gun" method. We hunt an area that has way less birds than farther south and required a couple hundred extra dollars in gas but only saw about 10 hunters in 6 days so its worth it to us since we only hunt for turkeys once a year anyways.

Congrat's on the birds. It is especially nice seeing three generations sharing both proud moments and hunting know how.

Well done, again. And just when your wife thought she couldn't take one more day of you yelping and gobbling along with the Primos team. Now you can give her some relief by switching over to the elk bugle.

Yeah, taking the boy along is a lot of fun its just unfortunate that he can't shoot one legally himself; he has a .22 chipmunk with a scope and bipod and can shoot a loonie-sized group at 20m....and can call turkeys as good as most adults! The fact that a 10 year-old can shoot a moose or griz yet younger kids can't shoot small game with adult supervision is really stupid in my opinion when they want to recruit more hunters. Oh well, 4 more years I suppose....I've thought of trying to get this changed but not sure that I have it in me to deal with all of the red-tape, beauracracy and stupidity.....most people would never consider that this could be done in a safe and fun manner.

hey Sitkaspruce......the one I just breasted and deepfried in the field as a treat and the other I plan on roasting in a turkey bag with traditional dressing for the family.....I also have a turkey deep-frying pot that makes for a great red-neck party once in a while.:p

Naw, Craig stopped having that party a couple of years ago......it slowly was transformed beyond its original intent:???:. I usually have a party before the fall to clean out the freezer to get ready for the new season; will let you know in case you happen to be around:smile:

Yeah, I mount the fans but I'm not sure that it'll make it onto Brady's wall; his first one with me is there but Brady is actually getting to be quite a veteran hunting turkeys with me since I pushed him in a jogger-stroller when he was 2 and has been involved in bagging seven birds; most of these will go in a shop that is yet to be bult
