I spent my winter building bows. I hope to hunt with one soon. Going turkey hunting this week. It would be so cool to get some game with a bow I made myself. Made my own string, fletched my arrows. I'd like to show them off here but I don't know how to post a pic. Tell me how please. Any other boyers on this site? Talk to me.

You need to get an account with a hosting site like Photobucket. Then you can post the pics there in your album and post the image code here. It will show the pics in your post.

 Or......you can go to the "Gallery" and up load pictures from straight your computer to the Gallery. Then just copy and paste them into your thread/reply.

Works like a 'hot-damn' and lets other members view pictures whenever they get bored with posting mindless drivel. Have you never visited the Gallery before?

Nice work! Is that Ash or was the "Kickin Ash" reference just a pun? I want to make one this year myself. Looking for a good stave of Yew...

Bow Pete: I've made quite a few bows now, some more successful than others. I hade the least success with ash as the belly had chryssalis (spelling) badly. It took quite a string follow. I tip my hat to you to make an ash bow a success. I just finished a yew with sinew backing that I shot at the TBBC shoot in Victoria last weekend. Lots of fun.

It is ash. That one is self backed. Chased the back down to one growth ring. I made another by backing an ash board with 1/8" quarter sawn ash backing. The 2 turned out nice but I broke a bunch of other bows. Got an ash backed ash on the go now. Backed it with fibre glass so I hope not to have breaking trouble.
