This is a small bull moose we saw in our front yard late last spring. People were telling me that he was covered in ticks. As you can see he is very skinny. That was the last tiime we seen him.

he was in tough shape for sure. he may have survived if the weather was warm enough

I'm sure he would have gone back to mother nature ,very rough shape for sure.

the moose population in the ag zone in 7b has been hit hard the last couple of winters with ticks and we have lost a signigicant number. looking at moose this spring the ticks don't seem to be as bad so maybe we are over it for a while.

ya lil ruff- good pix!

i was lookin at some moose tracks in my back yard the other day and there was blood spots every few steps- just seemed to be a little here and a little there- wonder if its ticks. all other tracks that ive seen have not had any blood around them. ive seen it before where the moose will shake like a wet dog and blood will spray all over the snow.
- hopefully this cold winter will have killed most of the ticks...
