Thanks, I was at first thinking this was a imature Red tailed hawk..but I am now pretty sure I was wrong and its a Coopers Hawk??

Anyone know for sure ???

Had my Field Giude to the Birds of North America handy and it is a...... sharp shinned hawk. Good going Tomahawk.

Great photos Srupp! Love raptors. I have a buddy that has a bunch of them tax'd and mounted in his living and dining room. Got them from road kills and did the paper work thing and had them mounted. Gorgeous animals.

Great pics Srupp. Hes for sure a sharpshined hawk, cause I've got one hangin on my wall. picked him up yrs ago and had him mounted with open wings..

That is a real beauty. Nice shots. What camera and lens were you using to take the pics? I like the pic where it looks like he is winking at you.

Thanks d6dan....once I was told, I compared the Coopers with the Sharp Shined Hawk..I agree its a Sharp Shined..

Dirty the camera is a digital Nikon the body is a D200

the lens is a " AF-S NIKKOR 18-200 mm 1:3.5 -5.6 G ED " DX..LOL

when he has the one eye open is one of the first photos...I took 20..well that was his first look at me..as he was sound asleep...:biggrin:
