Definitely plenty of wolves here but they don't exactly stand out in the open...sightings are rare. I've seen two in six years here but i'm not looking for them either...

Down here we have a very strong cougar population........but I've never seen one:?.

It's usually the eco-freaks that want us to stop hunting them so they can drive around and see then frollicking in the fields. Just doesn't happen.:?

Plenty of wolves. I have seen quite a few the last 3 years in 7a without even looking for them.

That said, I think they are pretty tough to specifically target and would more or less be an 'incidental' harvest while hunting other game.

Saw two near Bear Lake on the 200rd and theres a few in Mackenzie area as well. The two I saw near Bear Lake appeared to have been educated however:sad:
They just didn't want to hang around, can't figure out why:wink:

There's still 3 feet of snow in the bear lake area...no bears until May at the earliest.
Plenty of wolves, not a very high connect rate for most guys

Getting to the bush is a problem right now, most of the roads are still covered in deep snow and very few were plowed this winter. Heck my driveway still has snow/ice on it and I am in city limits.

Haven't heard of any black bear sightings yet but I have heard of grizz sightings not too far out town. The snow is finally starting to melt away fast so the bears should be popping out in numbers soon!

there were a few sets of bear tracks crossing the highway last week on the way to work (Bear Lake). As of yet I haven't seen anything, hopefully another two weeks and we should be able to get some action around town and south.
