Boston Bar Long Weekend

Spent the weekend exploring around BB for bear with 4WDarren and a couple of other friends. I think we were at least 1-2 weeks early. Still lots of snow up on the hills. Some roads were still not passable. Met just one other group of hunters who we knew from last year, they had no luck as well. They had quads but said they couldnt get around too easily either. Went to harrass the hippies at Tranquility but no one was around :-P.

All in all still good to get out and start the scouting.

I lost my licence plate at that exact spot last year! I went back to get it because I didnt want to pay 18$ for a new one, and wouldnt you guess I hammered my turn signal on another small tree and smashed that for $50. However I knew my licence plate was up there on the road because I was running over small sapplings on the way up. Sure enough, at the end of the day I was out only $32 instead of $18.

Was good to get away for a bit at least, eh? Hopefully next time we'll have a nice teddy bear picnic.

Cool, 4WDarren got the pics up. Ya, it was still good to just get out in the trucks and do a little hiking.

That sure is beauty country up there. Went huntin rabbits up there quite a few times as a kid.

But one thing ya always gotta remember about that place: they don't serve beers to bears in Boston Bar ;-)

Been seeing lots of Bears around Boston Bar but there not up in the snow.
Best time is right at last light seeing most in the dark as a matter of fact saw a very large Bear walking through the railyard a 4am heading down to the river. Local's see him on the hillside at dusk.
Saw another nice Bear between Popkum Rd and the Power plant.

We saw no sign even in low valleys. Well, at least away from town and the garbage dump (we dont spend much time there).
