Good Friday - Sturgeon

We went Sturgeon fishing on Good Friday

We took Azshia's boyfriend, Josh and Azshia with us as this was Josh's first time fishing so was exciting to have a "newbie" on board and he was a fast learner and a wonderful deckhand :)

We launched the boat and after we were running on the river, Peter showed him how and told him how to fish for sturgeon. % minutes after casting the rods out, Josh was into his first fish. He saw the line jiggle and he was fast on the draw and poof he had that fish hokked and reeled to the boat. Was very cool to be part of his first Sturgeon.

We then about an hour later met up with Leaseman and his boat crew and fished with them for the rest of the day catching 2 more sturgeon. 1 for me and 1 for Azshia. Peter, always the guide is such a big supporter of us girls getting our critters whether with they be fish or game :).

So Mike, where does this leave the Campbell/Glinnum sturgeon derby #'s - I believe we are still up on ya (must mean you are a very very good teacher)? Thanks as always for the wonderful day.

No big dinosaurs were caught today but still 2.5, 3 and 4 footers were fun to play with. We lucked out with a very nice sunny day - the rain waited until we were out of the water and driving home :).

and for those enquiring minds - the boat did well on her first 2009 river run but she has a few things needing tweeking to be perfect and no we did not meet up with "ultramagbob" for his picnic - I am so sure he was disappointed as well (NOT)

Sounds like you have had a great day on the river. It’s always a joy to get a newbi out and watch them having success. 8-)


The ice finally melted off the Nicola Lake and the trout are eager to bite. So guess what I will be doing over the Easter weekend. :wink:

well Dusty - ya see I was looking at hats one day and asked Peter which one he wanted to buy me - the blue one said (Angel) and the pink one said (super B) - I don't think Peter can read cause he said I look nice in pink :) hehehehehehehe

It was actually closer to to 35 knots

Yes Alison, the "Glinnum/Campbell" derby is in your favour.... we feel that you get out so few a times, that we cast our rods out with no bait.....:biggrin:

But once your boat is finally fixed...we will "show no mercy!!!!! (:roll:)

Once you guys stay in town for more than one weekend, we will set up the mini sturgeon derby, probably 5-10 boats in a mile stretch and then we will see who is the king (or queen!)......

With all kidding aside, was good to see you guys into some fish, my "crew" where all sleeping and that meant I might have had to "fish"

Saturday was funny with four young lads from 10-16 years old..... rain, wind, white caps about Mission, meant the boys didn't leave the warmth of Mr. Heater........:grin:
