As I was taking pics of the second kill, I spot movment above me about 30-40 yards away. I can see the back of a deer on the ground and could see the legs kicking up. Part of the deer in behind a tree so I didn't get a good look and pics are also poor. The legs were not kicking hard just a bit about every few min. I decided to slowly move away from the area as today I did not have a rifle with me. Here is the pics of the deer on the ground, sorry they are not very good pics.

I didn't see any definite idication of cat or wolf but in these other pics of the second kill you can see broken bones, will a cat break bones like a wolf will ?

Your pics are really clear and sharp, how did you manage this? I can not post pics on here that clear. The post is interesting also!!

That's the quality you get when you use a Nikon D80 (without using flash in forest light) and then have Photobucket host the pix.... crisp pictures!

Very interesting set of pictures indeed! Nice post... hope to see what happened to the last deer...

First one looks to be a cat kill. Third pic looks like old remnants of a kill that was buried and never came back for.
Cats will often kill in the same general area again and again, esp if they have kittens in tow (close to a den or safe place)

Wolf kill remnants get strewn all over the place....

Why didnt you go see right then what was up with that deer that was kicking ???

Could always be winter kills too that were picked away at.
Cant tell 100% from pictures.
