Dude. If you have buck fever now, I can't imagine what that 2 pointer is going to do to your nerves come hunting season. :-D

Bears.

Winter buck fever is negated by chasing preds.

Summer...buck fever is negated by heading north for sheep....or chasing hares:???:.

In reality, the only down time is July.......and that is for drinking beeeeeer.8).

Ever little bit helps.

if you don't already have one, go out and buy an xbox. also buy a Cabela's hunting game. play through it on easy, medium and hard. if you're like me, that'll take you the 5 months. :D

Bears and then beer and fishin'. That should keep a guy busy for a while and scratch the itch as well.

I know the feeling - had a yote yowling not 100 yards from the house last night - I thought old Mac (my Border Collie) had the itch worse than I did - that bugger yote scared off the 3 does that had been eating my lawn earlier in the evening (yard deer so off limits in the kids eyes - not to mention the ethics and the regs.) I will try and scratch the itch on a nice spring bear in the next week... not so much of an itch than a desire to put some sweet sweet bear sausage in the freezer....

If you can't get out to feed the itch, consider working on your equipment. Rotate tires, repack atv bearings, refinish gun stock, reload bullets, fix the tear in your camo, seam seal the tent...whatever it takes man!

Shed hunt, scout your favorite holes, set up trail cams... stuff like that.

You don't have Buck Fever.
Buck Fever will hit you when see that bad boy standing sideways, perfectly still, 75 yards away, on flat ground; and you wouldn't be able to hit him to save your life.

What you have right now sounds like a bad case of worms.
