We are heading up to the Skagit Valley tomorrow, it should be good as last weekend we saw 9 does as well as a spiker that was passed up. I'll be shooting my 7 x 57, I have never hunted with it yet but it performed well at the range with 140 grain Hornady interlocks.

heck jack occoner was killing elephants with a 7x57, the spanish kept the americans back for along time with a 7x57, ive taken maney deer and bear with the one i used to have. it is a fine caliber in factory or hand loads. jack also used his 270 and 7x57 for his back up rifle when going on safari in africa, funny he used it to back up his magnum rifles. its not with what you hit it with, its where your shot placement is.

When in the Skagit, make sure; if you get out to walk to lock your truck and have no valuables in view. The crack/meth heads from Hope make it a routine trip during hunting season to steal stuff from vehicles.

Burned once:evil: .....is hunting crack-heads legal?

if you go way back you shouldn't have problems, the crack head would be so high, that they couldn't see the road, if your worried if your truck will be stolen , here is a tip. take out your fuel pump relay..or your ignition coil wire. i hate crack heads to.

24 hours in those dence forests and there'll be no need for a CSI. There's a few good but UGLY roads that turn off of the main road, you'll need good equipment but there's lots of country to explore.
