This is not your average Infra-red camera!

We had a guy come out to our stations, and use a FLIR Camera to look for Natural Gas leaks. VERY Cool camera, calibrated to look for Gas leaks, Propane leaks, ect. The camera has a little cooling system that takes the internal temp of the camera down to about -300 DegF. Camera costs about $130,000 at this point, but I have hopes that the price will drop in the future:smile:.

The guy said he can see a mouse under about 3 feet of snow, from 50yrds away:eek: LOL

Anyway, not really hunting related but still cool.

We have these in the Fire department as we take them inside a ripping house fire in order to see where the seat of the fore is and as well as people whom may be trapped. Excelent tool. The many hunters on my job have always joked (only joked) about taking one hunting....could you imagine? Even in the day you would see EVERY living animal within the cameras scope. Scouting for roosting turkeys at night??? hehe

they are also used for checking for hot spots in the high power lines.... looking for potential failure points....... very cool!!!!!
