I plan on going for Black Bear this spring around Boston Bar for the first time and am wondering if this weather is going to make April a tough month to hunt them. The weather has been unseasonably cold for a while now and tons of new snow in the mountains. Will they be out and about come early April?

id consider near the end of april instead ,should be some fresh greenery out in the lower areas and thats what they are gonna want to eat once they wake up

Late April probably is a good time to start....

Whole May should be excellent for bears this year.

Our bears are up now.I think they are in and out of snooze mode. But they have been wandering though the lower 20 for about 3 weeks.

I've hunted that area numerous times. I'd wait until late April or May. there is a lot of snow up there right now and this cold weather will have them still not moving to feed.

May always seems to be the best. The long weekend is usually good here on the island

I was up there last year a couple of times for bear, depending on the melt late April to early May as some have already suggested. Maybe stick to the later this year.

If I was going there I would hold off till the first week of may.
