I saw those pictures a couple of years ago and they are circulating again on the email. What's funny is the email is trying to emphasize that this is a GIANT eagle. The person originating the comments obviously doesn't know that foxes are quite small and this is just a normal sized eagle.

Somebody was definitely at the right place at the right time and got some great shots.

I would say 8 feet is pretty big....but it also the wingspan of a healthy adult Golden Eagle.
