When you see a price like that the first thing that pops into your mind is " What is wrong with them".

Used!

This could well be worth a closer look, after all it would be very difficult to hide a fault they might have under a new paint job.

Hey I bought my $800 shot gun for $200 up in prince george when a ladies husband passed away and she just wanted to get rid of it. She knew what it was worth but just wanted a quick sale. I would look into it if i were in the market

Contact him and see... Do not pay for the item without first holding them in your hands so a meeting should be arranged.

DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY WESTERN UNION! RED FLAG

I have seen some really good deals on Zeiss/Swaro binos and spotters before on eBay, Craigslist and even on Used Victoria once.

So I sent an email, if they're not sold yet, I'll go take a look. Anything special to look for? Any chance they're fake? I know when my sister was in Thailand they had fake everything, something to do with trademark laws.

One thing that pops into mind is if the seal is broke on the tubes. If you can get your hands on them try them inside and out to see if they get blurry.

First off, it's Craigslist, some folks just post to get a rise and never reply.
Secondly, if you get to try them, have the guys put them in a deep freeze for 20 min, pull them out and see where the fog appears.

Just to let everyone know my friend was robbed to the tune of 30K. They got a lot of his hunting gear including Swaro's 10 x 42 EL's and his ATS 65 Swaro spotter. Badlands pack, Sitka Gear clothing and a bunch of other stuff. His is an avid hunter and gives back to the sport we all enjoy so ANY help tracking this stuff down would be much appreciated.
He lives in Mission so most of the hot stuff should turn up in the Lower Mainland...happened last week

Well he should go look at them, hopefully he keeps his serial numbers recorded (anybody with brains should do that anyways on any valuable item)
I engrave my DL# on stuff like that.

There was another friend of mine that was robbed in Chilliwack. Lost a set of 10x42 Swarovski EL's.

I got a pm from another hbc member who had contact with this guy about the binos yesterday and he said it seemed fishy and the guy said he'd call him back and never did.

I haven't had much luck with craigs list lately. Last week I bought a gps which worked fine when I looked at it, but after I left it had major problems turning on. I got my money back from the guy and it turns out he works in the service/returns department of a certain outdoors store, kinda makes you wonder?

If it seems too good to be true it usually is.

Craigslist is notorious for stolen property. A credit card fraudster I dealt with once told me he and his accomplices would routinely use it to sell off the majority of their counterfeit credit card buys...Be careful what you buy, you may well end up in possession of stolen property.
