Have not picked it up yet but Marco at SugarCreek Taxidermy in Red Deer sent me some photos yesterday. Looks pretty sweet! Thanks Marco.
This fellow came in while I was calling moose. I kept hearing what sounded like mice scurrying under swamp grass for 20 minutes. Finally, I had enough and turned around to have a look and saw this guy standing 40 yards away.
I turned back to grab my rifle (it was leaning on a small spruce), and as I did that, the wolf took off running. At about 75 yards, he stopped to look back when I howled. He was down.
As I took a couple steps to go have a look, another two wolves, that I had no idea were there, started running off. But they were having nothing to do with stopping.
First wolf for me.

That's a wicked looking mount. Love the closed mouth look, very clean. Is it a full body mount? If so got any pics of the whole thing?

Beautiful looking wolf, I agree with enjoying it NOT with a snarly face, looks more natural. Very very nice,,,,,seems we share the same first name,,,,so maybe that'll give me some luck getting my first dawg this year!

Thanks all. Looks like Marco did a stand up job. Was his first wolf. Had seen his work in his shop, and was impressed. First thought of a rug, and, nawww.....
Had seen another wolf shoulder mount up here, Wayne out at Rocky Mtn Taxi in Pouce did a nice black, and was interested.
Took it another step as well, it's a pedestal mount. Photos aren't showing it, but adds another "different" aspect to it.
As well, the "snarling" wolf, nawwww......
It was early, from what I've been told, for a good thick coat, but his cape was quite well haired and the color was impressive. Shot 3rd week of Sept a couple years ago.
Turn around time was just short of a year.
Don't take on too much Marco.......
