Newbie-ish question, and just curios... why would / does the MOE confiscate something like this?

it was found "on minesite property" and therefore, the story goes that the folks had to trespass to get the horns....when this type of thing occurs, the gov't usually holds the horns in question until they get it all figured out.

who knows, it might be legit.....but everything I have heard, in particular from people who watched that ram grow up, is that the people in the photos don't have the rights to that ram...at this point, the crown does.

Any find be it roadkill, wolf kill, winter kill even a shed antler if you want to keep it you need a permit if you bring something in like a ram skull or wolf hide they wont issue the permit they confiscate it and auction it off. The way they decide is if the value is over 200 dollars you cant keep it. this is in bc I dont know about alberta, the yukon allows you to keep stuff but things like sheep skulls you still have to bring em in for inspection and plugging ( for all the wise guys I know the ram was found in alberta just posting this for the bc guys who are interested)

I'd like to see pics of the chick in the background. She looks like a real trophy. At least she is attainable, unlike the mine Rams.

You know, I'd just be way too tempted to get a lawyer involved.
I'd take pics, hide the horns, and tel the crown if I can have it I'll bring it in other wise,a good bon fire would settle it. I found it, if I can't have it some rich S.O.B. ant getten it eather.
Ya I know I sound and spell like a Redneck, So what?!

The ram is from Cadomin and it was just scored at 206 3/8. I think the person that found it just finished some court time and got it back from F&W.

GOOD ! and so it should be. So long as he had nothing to do with its death of course.

If she's with a guy like that, and the short bus kid, ya don't want her anywhere near your shaft.
