Nice Bull, I will guess 47"-48". They always look wider from behind.

So do you haul that moose out with the trike??

I am curious, how did you get into 7-26 from the Babine side. I used to work there and the only access I knew was through 7-27 and then down to 7-26, but the gates are locked for hunting season. Or you can go to FSJ and travel up to 7-26.

Here is another bull to judge with the same view.

This is a bull I guided a client to a couple years ago. BTW he is 6', 210 lbs

Take a guess on how wide he is and his score.

Cheers

These photo angles are killin me.....I dont KNOW how many I have guided....but I think this angle would only be available to a bird or in a tree stand!
Those ears laid out between the pans would make me think possible 55"...damned near impossible to accurately guess the score...NO one can tell me the length of the pans from this angle !!

LOL, I love when we post pictures like this and everyone guesses.

This bull was 49.5" spread and scored 198 and change gross.

This goes to show you how all that bone looks a lot bigger from behind then from the front. This is especially true of moose, but also for sheep, elk and deer. When we first saw this bull, he was about 3/4 of a mile away and was standing rump on to us. We all thought he was at least 55"+. I called him in and he was shot at 20 yards. When he finally showed himself, I was walking way calling and the guy who shot him swore he was over 60" when he walked out. His first shot was a chest shot, his next was through the horn and the last was in the neck. The 4 quarters weighed 675lbs at the meat locker. He is a great bull, especially for the central interior, but he is not in the class of what most of you thought (as I did in the field:smile:) When you actually see a 60"+ bull, you will know it....they are friggin huge!!!!

Here is another picture of the same bull, from a front view.
