This is my first year hunting and we got one this weekend.

We went over to region 8-12 in the Conkle lake area and after about a good 20 minute hike, we spotted the 4 point white tail. he was 25 yards in front of us. My buddy took the shot and got him. He was using a 30-06 180 grain

Now it's my turn, lol. We are going to head out to the same area this weekend. Can't wait to get my first one on my own

Was back there yesterday and it was like a war zone, bullets flying everywhere, buddy and myself went up left on 4 km and continued up past hangover ridge, found a road that no one had travelled that day(new snow). We went for a hike, myself south and my partner north, after 5 minutes we heard a gunshot, no more than 50-100 yards from us. We both headed back up to the truck, expecting each other had gotten one. Neither one of us had shot, we didn't see the shooter and I'm sure the shooter didn't see us.
We then went across the valley in through the field a bit up the main road. Couldn't hike more than about 20 minutes without running into someone in the bush. 90 % of the guys where from Van. Nothing against the Van guys, but I'm sure the deer felt a little huntin' pressure that day, lmao

If you don't want to run into people and have bullets flying all around, don't post where your hunting on the internet! Congats on the deer it took me 3yrs to get my first animal!

Better yet, become a bowhunter and hunt outside of the GOS.
