Got an older 12x14 Cabelas tent & the roof has about had it. Sick of tarping it up & listening to it all night. Looking to re-canvas it. Wondering if anyone has gone to the bother & if so what they used.
It's got to be cheaper than a new tent.
Keep an eye on the Buy and Sell. If you watch long enough you'll find a smoking deal on a walltent that will be way way cheaper than fixing your old one.
I bought some canvas at the local sewing shop and used it with contact cement to patch some holes in my tent. Waterproofed it and worked great.

Get a canvas tarp from Princess Auto and throw it over. They are super cheap when on Sale and work awesome.

A mixture of Borax and Boric acid will make the canvas fire re-tardant. Its not permanent, so it must be reapplied occasionally.

About a 2:1 ratio Borax to Boric acid. 10oz to 5oz in about a gallon of water, spray it on, let it dry and enjoy.
