Well, I made it down to the Q today. Bite was slow, but man they were worth the wait! First fish gave one small hit, and then I struck on the second one, and it was on. Peeled a bunch of line, my poor little ice reel was screaming, and just when I though I had it beat, off it went again. It took four runs before I was able to gain control. Took me a good few minutes to get it up through the hole. Second fish came about 1/2 hour later. No taste testing for this one, it just inhaled the jig and was off. It was the same in fight, and ultimately, size. I kept giggling like a schoolgirl, It's been a while since I had fish like this through the ice. Both were released to grow a little bigger for ice off. I look forward to meeting them with the fly rod in a couple of months. The bite died off after that, so I left and tried another lake for Kokanee, had one small hit, but nothing after that. Pics to come.
