I went out today, February 9/09 region 2, and shot my first coyote, which expired at 9am. I arrived at my spot at around 7:30am, got comfy and started to do some calls. With out noticing, I found that I started to doze off almost reaching a full sleep state. After some time, my right ear started ringing so I peeked open my eyes, sat up and looked to my left...nothing was there. With my eyes still half shut I looked over to my right and saw some thing moving up towards me. My eyes sprung open, my heart started racing out of my chest and I kept on telling myself.... "wait... wait...calm down...control your breathing." I then found myself in an almost tunnel vision state which I'm sure most of you fully understand. Then I looked through my scope took aim and he went out of sight... "Crap" I thought. I looked back up but couldn't see him and I thought I blew my chance. Then, to my surprise, his head poped up... then his whole body... he then started to come at me. At about 80 yards I again looked in through the scope, and bang. I don't know if it was just my hunters instincts or what, but I knew that shot wasn't right. She jumped up and ran about 3 feet, stood still and was looking around. At that point I realized I missed so I took aim again, calmed myself down again, did everything I could to control my breathing and heart rate and popped off another shot... "BANG". This time it hits its mark and she goes down. Now here she is, hope you like.
