I just left sparwood for Mackenzie as I got layed off from the trucking company there.

I couldnt believe the sheer number of elk in the elk valley. I will be heading down to the Jaffary area in the spring for gobblers.

Although I was born and raised in mackenzie I do miss the elk valley and one day I will return.

ya theres a few elk there real easy to see right now seeing as they are all in the low down wintering grounds, come late spring though, those numbers dwindle to a few elk around.

Nope. No elk in Elkford, Sparwood, Fernie or Jaffray. Better to hunt somewhere else.

just got home can't wait to get back. Some people can be a little hard to get along with out there, just like me! Want to sell my house in the Okanagan and get out there as quick as I can. I have been to BEAVER valley, so why do they call it that?

Dont listen to ramcam, he has Muskox on the brain. The name "Elkford" is a falicy, there are no Elk of any size East or North of Jaffery.
I believe KK photoshop'd that pic.

If anyone doesn't know already the mines have a hiring freeze on now and have had since October I think it was,. few jobs and even less game:lol:

I'm hopeful everyone else will move and I'll have the whole valley to myself

The herd in KK's pic lives on that mine property and at no time to the bulls come off. winter/spring/summer.

Further, the nice bulls living off the property that KK mention were on the winter range when he was there and ARE NOT standing there in the open during the season.

like RamCam says, there are elk, but you WILL work for them. But forget you saw that picture KK put up, it may as well be in Jasper.
