Good News
A few months ago, I put up one of my rifles (that wasn't even that pricey) for raffle.

I did it to raise some money for a family that had a teenage son that was in the CHildrens Hospitol, as he was suffering from a type of cancer.

The father was a contractor, who basically lost all of his work since he realy could only be with his son, and cared aqbout nothign else other than the well being of his son.

The community also held a fundraiser for the family to help pay expenses as well as day to day bills, that don't stop coming just because youhave a sick kid.

We raised $1000 just in the rifle raffle. Our fundraiser raised another 6K or so.

The rifle raffle was done completely online, with ticket sales only to hunting forums that I go to. I never even hit up the local community.

I am bloody happy to be the bearer of good news now.

The son has had a good recovery, he is still staying in a trailer outside the Childrens Hospital, to get daily treatment, but he is out of the hospital itself, and is expected to be back home next week.

This kid and his father is not only a member of our community, but they are pretty personal friends of mine I didn't stress that too much in the raffle, but there it is...

ASs a testimony to how great us hunters are, many people sent in $$ and said " I don't want the rifle, if I win it, lets raffle it again"

BCBOY- (The LAST guy in the world that wants an SKS) won the gun, and he still doesn't want it...SO we may raffle it off again, anyway.

Thanks to all who bought a ticket, or sent donations...It was appreciated
