Well Its the first blood for me all year. Not much of a storey either. I headed out to an area that my friend ha been the previous day and had reported to me lots of lynx sign. I got out there just as it was getting light enough to shoot. I was driving down a untravelled road looking for somewhere to do a few set ups and try and call either a lynx or a coyote in when this little guy ran across the road about a halfmile up. i drove up to where i thought he had crossed. got out to look for tracks but he never left any. I did a few lip squeks and looked around. up popped his head at about 20 yards from a tree well. I got him with a 22. The pics show him with my 223 but that rifle has yet to draw blood. I tubed this cat out and will have it hung out for display along with a wolf and coyote hide

Geez but they have beautiful fur! Back in the 60's we were getting like 800 easy for nice pelts. Some exceptional might go over 1000 no problem.

Thanks guys.
I consider my self very lucky to be able to go out and harvst one of these amazing critters. I know lots of guys that would love to get out and get one but they either dont have the population or the time. I do put in a fare amount of time looking for sign and where lynx have been frequenting.
As for not being equiped, well a lynx tag is only $8 so in that case i never leave home with out one.
and sometimes you dont have a riflebut i do always have a camera.
thanks again for the comments
