My lucky day....

My season started out great with a nice 4x3 buck then went straight down hill as I was not able to make my moose hunt (and we had two bull draws) due to WORK:evil: ...Anyways I was looking at the regs for the closing of deer (any buck) in my "favorite area" and found it closed yesterday so I called a buddy of mine and along with my son we headed on our way up a descided to work through region 2 on the way....20 minutes into the hunt there is a nice fat spike watching us...BAM...one in the back of the truck...my buddy joked only two more to go!!!...words hardly out of his mouth and a chunky 3x3 comes trucking throught the slash....BAM...another 200 pounds in the back of the truck...My turn to joke and tell my buddy that I am now taking him to my secret spot and he must be blindfolded (ha-ha)...as we are heading up my "special mountain" we came across some monster track and as it was so go a day weather wise and game wise we were again joking about how long before we shot this monster...seconds later on a little clearing at the tree line stands one of the biggest bucks I have ever seen...and BAM....yes we have three deer in back for a days hunt!!! The big buck was in full rut and stinking, a thick 5x5 that you cant wrap your hand around the base..I am not a trophy hunter, more of a meat hunter but did this buck ever get us cranked...we had a fairly easy drag but due to his weight it was 20 yards at at time then rest... we finally made it back to Aldergrove last night at 10:30 and had to weigh the buck...gutted and with lower legs of ....320 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!...tired and sore I will be posting pictures soon!!

It was just yesterday I was checking the regs and seen it was the last day, as I was contemplating this weekend. I'd of been happy with 1/3 that luck. Congrats on an unbelieveable day. They're what stories are made of. Now like everyone else ... pics man. :razz:

Sorry guys still waiting for my buddy to e-mail me the pics...spent friday night skinning and took the deer to a friend of a friend who is going to do them up for us...he has been doing game meat for 30 plus years and he says that the big one is the second biggest he has seen in his career (he is also a hunter too)..
so as soon as I get the pics they will be on here!!...officially the bases were 7" on rt and 6 7/8" on the left......
