I picked up a sierra designs this year, I think its the gamma, it fits my self the girlfriend and my hound comfortably, i'm 6 ft and did not find it cramped, but if you got a lot of gear a 3 man would be better. I also like the look of the msr mutha hubba looked good, bot tents will hold up to the rain pretty good.

Ive had this tent for over 10 years now. It holds up well and the vestibule has room to cover two full packs and boots.

picked up a MSR Hubba Hubba HP last year. 2 person, 2 doors, 2 vestibules. 4.1 lbs. AWESOME 3+ season tent. 450$

since then Big Agnes came out with a similar design in the Copper Spur except its a 3 person and weighs almost the same with more room.

If you watch the mec online gear swap section you can save some money. Lots of good used stuff on there. I just got a hubba hubba hp from there. Haven't used it yet, but have set it up in my living room a few times in about 2 minutes. I'm 6' and it seems comfortable, I'll be using it with a 6'3" guy so we'll see how tight it is.

Sierra Electron II here. If sleeping two in this tent its cozy and requires sleeping head to toe. Weighs in a little over 5lbs with two ROOMY vestibules. One of the nice feature this tent has over the Hubba Hubba (which I considered along with this tent) is the height of the floor tub side walls and how close to the ground the fly covers, both of which help keep out splashing water in the rain.

I shopped around for a bit last year and was leaning towards going with a 3 man instead of a 2 man. Some of the newer ones out there come in a weights competitive with very light 2 man options.

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3, at just over 4 pounds (4lbs 3oz I think), with a price approaching the $500 mark or...

The REI Quarter Dome T3, (4lbs 7oz I think) for under $300

I haven't looked at tents lately, there may be more options available now.

Also haven't made up my mind whether I want ultralight, or ultra tough...so for now remain tentless:|

Mountain Hardware Approach.

This little tent has proved its worth over several sheep hunts in all types of weather (high winds, rain, hail, snow etc) and terrain ..... still going strong.

Might be a bit small and cozy for some folks, but it does the job nicely.

As taken from last summers adventure: (some folks might recognize HBC's own SSS)

Set the tent up anywhere......as taken in the Cassiar:

This is actually the tent I'm running with now, an Asolo Micron II. But I don't think I like it enough to take it hunting. Entrance is small, vestibule is small, it's not that stable in a high wind, etc. I want to buy a MEC Tarn II before next season. Have had them for work and they are just epic, bombproof tents

Hubba Hubba HP, pegged out properly, the tarp should just about touch all around the tent, vestibule included. In non-buggy or windy areas (like the EK, I just go with the tarp and poles and you have way more room and it packs to nothing. keep in mind, it is one of the lightest tents of its class and therefore room is sacrificed. You have to be efficient put it that way.:phttp://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/medium/IMGP0769_resize.JPG
