I found pictures of this.... as my dog just went through it. The bone was trapped on his lower jaw, and he had to be put under while it was sawed off.
Please Please Please.... careful. I dont know what would have happened with my dog if I hadn't been there. They had been playing with the 4 bones like this for a month and nothing happened. Vet said it actually happens alot more then you realize.

200.00 dollars later.

I cut all my bones in half for that very reason.

Wild Dogs (Wolves & Coyotes) eat Bones all the time.

If you Dog likes to gulp everything down dont give him no Bones. If he/she eats like a Cat then there should be no problem.

Just my ovservations over the past 30 years.

Mine get the big bison femurs from the feed store. When they chew the soft knuckle down to the shaft, they get chucked.......

The knuckle part is porus bone, like a sponge. The shaft will splinter into long shards......an increased risk to the dog, and thus me discarding it at that point.

Other than GROUND raw chicken backs / necks from the butcher, these are the only bones they get.

No problems to date.
