Been a long time since I've had to replace hunting boots. Sheep hunt is on the calender for this year and I'm looking for a replacement pair for the old danners , whats the boot of choice today ??

Rocky's provide a good lightwieght strong boot selection. google "rocky outdoor wear"

Meindl Canada Hunting Boot. Wonderful on my sheep hunt and hve lasted 16 years.

I see you live in reg 8.
Go see Larry Fisher at his hardware store in Vernon.He is a sheep hunter and sells quality boots.
Also do a search on here for meindl boots,the quality of leather they are using now is suspect compared to the older boots.Still decent just not the same as 10 yrs ago.RB

Hanwag is a quality boot that I have found very tough and very comfortable.

Bought some scarpas, Escape GT's for mountaineering, wicked ankle support, wear well, gore tex light, full rand, seem to dry out quick(footsweat) and NO HAMMER TOES!!!

I actually havent hunted with them yet but 115km of Pounding through the rockies with a 40 lb pack will give you a pretty good idea.

Downside, stiff soles

225$ @ MEC last summer

stay with Danner. i've tried Meindl, Rocky, Browning, Kodiak, Saloman and 2 others.

i will never buy a boot other than a Danner boot.

Fit = comfort = happy feet = sucessful hunting.
