when in the off season is the best for scouting waterfowl around delta?

All year round really. Spend as much time as you can out there in different weather, learn where the birds go with the tide, wind, etc. Learn the channels, deadheads, sandbars and other hazards so you can find your way home in the dark or fog if need be.

I plan to be doing some photography and scouting all year from my favourite spots, and hopefully finding some new ones...:-D
