I'm after the illusive 2 point moose-and just when you would dearly love to see an immature bull-out steps the full palmed mature animal. What is your experiance in ratios between immatures and mature animals?

i've only seen one immature. it said in the regs last year that they make up 17% of the bull population roughly

I thought it might be higher than 17%-1 in 6 given the fact that aproximately 50% of the calves are male.I'dbe interested to know whatthe demographic age curve looks like

I saw one 5 days before season opening... I was scouting and area and he was in a clearcut 40 yards form my truck with a bbbiiiggg bull! Been back several times now and no seen him yet. I might have seen him but at 250 yars in the shade I could not tell for sure so I did not shoot. In total I've seen 9 moose since opening, not one shooter, the last two a cow and calf at 20 yards, my kids sure enjoyed that!

Oh well, good thing I got a bull draw in 8-10 for November...

I'd be interested in how many guys went out moose hunting but weren't able to connect with an immature. My moose hunting is pretty much a one shot deal- a week off and a long drive.I'm wondering if I'd be better off going far north where I can take''any bull'' when I don't get a draw

Rather,

Our trips are the same deal, one shot per year, and yes, the further north u go,the better. We had 3 LEH in 6 and filled all in 3 days.

My experience with immatures is, that I have seen them when i can't shoot and don't see them when i can!!! But thats hunting :)

They definitely exist!! I have shot several over the years and here is this year's. He made the fatal mistake of stopping long enough for me to count the points positively and take one shot.
