Ultramag...

I had a post on here a while back about tires that you may want to try and search for. LOTS of great info and as you can imagine; very differing opinions.

<Edit> Found it. http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=27248

I had Yokohama Geolander AT's on my truck and for an "all round" tire I thought they were great but wore a bit too soon; in my opinion. I really liked them as they were great off road (without getting boggers) but I also wanted something good on the highway and good in snow for a year round tire.

Anyhow I was searching around at different products, reading some reviews, comparing pricing and lo and behold I ended up going for the newer and vastly improved Geolander AT-S. They apparently addressed the wear issue and did some mods to the tread pattern; over the past 4 weeks I have been very happy with these tires. They are great on the highway, not too noisy and very good in the snow that we have had lately. Great in the snow on the highway as well....and also plowing through the uncleared streets in what was the vast snowy wasteland of the lower mainland.

Oh....and they were priced quite well as also. I think I got 255/65 R16 for my Pathfinder and they were under $190 per tire installed with a great warranty offered from YOKO and the retailer I bought them from has their own additional warranty too.

Toyo M-55 commercial on/off road truck tire built for loggers, great reviews on every site you look on, I have mine siped in the centers.

A friend of mine in Saskatchewan has had a set on his ford diesel for 80,000 kms, never had one flat or issue with them and they have A LOT of gravel there.

I bought the Toyo M-55's in the spring. I only have about 9,000km on them so far, but I do like them. I think they will last pretty good.

Before these, I had the BF Goodrich all terrains and they didn't last at all. Gravel really chewed through them.

if it's a company truck, tell them to buck up.

That's the sheep hunting rig - I just swap the tires between that and the ride 'em lawnmower. Gerry can of gas, window mount for the spotter and you're gtg.

The truck needs 6 235/85/16s please.

I would recommend the Brigestone Dueler AT Revo. They are new tire.I have them on my company truck and they are the best tires I have ever used. Not the regular dueler but REVO.If you can find a set.

Have used Bridgestone's M777 tires for my trucks, lots of time on FSR roads and carry max weights without any failures, compound is a little hard but there's always a trade off.

I wonder if the wear on the BFG AT's is due to the fact they are a rated winter tire? You know, softer rubber compound to grip when the temp heads south? I went through this in the fall prior to my moose trip and decided on the BFG AT's for my truck. With a bit of weight in the box, I had no trouble with all the snow and ice over the last month either. I also spent some time in the back of Mission with all their snow and no concerns their either.

My dad just bought new tires for his Chev 3/4t and went with Coopers too. He went with the same tire he ran year round before, the dedicated M/S tire (winter rated). He put near 100km on those, with most of the last 50K hauling a 16' trailer loaded with landscaping supplies and detritus. He swears by them, but he also avoids mud like the plague.

I've got the BFG's on my Jeep, but it will get Revo's when it's time to change them.

Put a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers on my Tundra back in November. Cant comment on the wear, but the winter traction has been outstanding so far. Price was pretty decent too.

I was admiring some of those for my Dodge, but cheaped out on some Toyo Open Country M/Ts. The Nitto's were not cheap in the 35x12.5x18s.

if u want a m/t tire u should look ate the bfg mud-terrain T/A KM2, my buddy has them on his dodge 3500 and they are 37's and on the hwy they are very quit compaired to the old bfg mudterrains, the second tire i would look at is the toyo open country m/t

That is very good to hear. I only have a few hundred clicks on mine, but the traction is impressive and the highway noise is not as bad as I feared it might be.
