This has been a really difficult contest to deal with, so many people posted links instead of pictures, stories and scores on the Contest thread. Makes it so I will have to make some sort of "form" for next contest, becuase it's been a nightmare sorting it all out!!:D

Anyway, Here are the guys that listed scores:

Hunter4life
Goat 8.5

SitkaSpruce
BT 90

Bruin
180 MD

JML
121 7/8 WT

Bighorn Hunter
EK 260 WT 172 4/8

KennyJ
162 7/8 Dall

Tooley
168 2/8 MD

Rifleman
128 5/8 WT

Aagaucher
177 5/8 MD

Frenchbar and Brambles, still waiting for your scores...

If anyone has any other scores that were posted in your links, let me know.

It wasn't measured by the boone and crockett scorring he just did length it was done by the compulsroy inspection officer. In inches the longest is 9.25 shortest is 9. I did the boone and crockett website measuring score sheet and came up with 44 7/8.

Hey Gates, you might want to mention either Typical...or non-typ for the deer. I believe bruins was a typical, tooleys and agaucher's were non-typs. makes a huge diff! On a side note, I thought someone from this site got a 188 mulie typical????

Let me know the score....You or anyone out there with a contender.

There were so many links, it was impossible to track down all the scores, which is why I started this thread. And yes, note if they are NT or Typical...

The goat is measured, by an experienced taxidermist and scorer (and later verified by me following the B&C website instructions). It scores 51 4/8. total deductions are 4/8.

Now I have to get an official scorer to do it officially!

Well, imagine my surprise when I looked up the scores for Dall Sheep and found KennyJ had taken one that is 94% of the BC provincial record, and he is the winner of the HBC "Mr. Big" contest.

Kenny J this cool prize:

Premier HBC Sponsor Omineca Source for Sports has generously donated several prizes for the contest:

Outdoor Edge "Outpak" field kit - Includes the Kodi-Skinner/ Caper combo, Axe-It, Griz-Saw, Steel Stick, Boning/Fillet knife, Cerama-Steel Sharpener, Pen, Tape Measure, Flagging Tape, Zip-Ties and Game Cleaning Gloves. All these tools store in a compact Cordura roll-pack organizer. Individual sheaths are included for the Kodi Combo, Griz-Saw and Axe-It to carry these items separately.

It's great to see kennyj win the Mr. Big with the Dall. He definitely earned it!

I was thinking all fall that a goat that breaks 50 has the best chance of winning it all . . . and boy was I wrong. I would have put money on it that troutseeker would be bringing home the hardware!

What formula did you use to calculate? By my clacualtions KennyJ is still the winner but at 108.6% of bc record book 162 7/8 / 150.

Troutseekers goat was second 51 4/8 / 49 = 105.1%

Just curious...

I was as well but didn't want to say anything. Seems like Gate took the precentage of the #1 BC Record Dall??? Not the Minimum??

Yes shortly after posting, I was informed of that as well. I thought this contest was based on the minimum entry scores.

he score is based on #1 in the BC book I have in front of me, which is the 5th edition

#1 Dall is 172 6/8

Kenny J's is about 94% of the size of that ram.

Troutseekers billy was about 90% of the #1 BC Goat

Both very, very nice animals.

Yesterday the stars aligned and I was able to get my goat officially scored. It was not as big as I had figured out, no surprised there! 50 6/8 is what it was scored at. Not too shaby and makes the all time book, I am pleased.Cheers, Troutseeker
