That sounds more like a communicable disease..
Did you have to make the hole bigger to get the fish out? Nice fish.

Nice fish!
Can I ask a question? I am new to the ice fishing game. I took my daughter out today, we were using jigs and maggots. We attracted some fish but only had one take(lost the bugger) , question is, should you invoke much action to the jig or just let it sit there once they are looking at it?(brookies and rainbows) Thanks in advance

The best thing to do is take Brads 2 stroke genny and hook it up to a couple of electrodes and sink them to within 1 foot of the bottom.
Fish your jig slowly between them, at just the right moment, throw the switch. Simply scoop out with your skimmer when the fish floats to the top.
Hope this helps.

Jig the hell out of it, let it sit for a couple of seconds, then jig some more. 4 - 6 inch jigs, 3 or 4 jigs at a time. If they don't hit it during the couple of seconds you pause it, it needs more jiggin' or they will lose interest fast!

This is true.

The 0.5s have a much lower alcohol content and thus a higher freezing point than normal beer.

One Shit forgot to mention that his fishin' partner bonked a nice kokanee Sunday. OSW looked ready to wrestle the shithawks for the couple of squawfish (aka Northern Pikeminnows  ) that I chucked on the ice. I'll be bbqin' the kokanee filets tomorrow.

Well Im not in BC at the moment but here are some pike me and some buds pulled out of Newell Lake near Brooks Alberta.

Big one is 40"

Snowy one Im holding is 38"

Smallest one is 35"

All on handlines

Was absolutely nasty out there, -30 before the wind, no tent or heater.
22 inches of ice plus 14 inches of hard snow ontop of that

Pretty much had to bottom out the 10"auger to punch through.
