My dog Neeko

I was at our cabin on the sunshine coast early this fall . I wanted to go bird hunting and see if I can spot some bears in a spot I know holds lots of both , I didn't want to go alone . Ive taken my dog Neeko hunting in the past and every time he was a total pain in the ass but I had no choice . I packed lunch and gear into my pack and away we went .

We hiked for a while and found some birds . Neeko was being totally awesome and flushing them out great . He flushed out 4 birds at once and I took a shot . I knew I made a solid shot but could not find the bird . I looked for about 10 minutes before moving on . The command I was using to get Neeko to flush was " wheres the bird " and pointing to where I wanted him to go . About 100 feet down the trail and asked Neeko "wheres the bird " . Well Neeko tears off into the bush , crashes all the way back to where I was looking for the bird .Within seconds he came out on the trail with the bird I couldn't find .

I was shocked and very proud . Who says pit bulls are useless ? He found birds for me all season and I wont be leaving him home while I'm bird hunting any time soon .

I cooked it up that night and we ate it together . We have shared quite a few this year .
